Practical Guide to Intraoperative Transoesophageal Echocardiography

 

Objective

To understand the basic Transoesophageal echocardiography examination in the context of cardiac patient undergoing surgery and in the ICU. Individuals will then be able to rapidly increase their experience using the skills and knowledge gained on the course.

Duration

The course is five days.

Topics covered

Using UK guidelines, the following topics will be covered:

1. LV function and assessment of volume states

2. Assessment of Mitral Valve

3. Assessment of Aortic Valve

4. Basic physics of ultrasound

5. Standard imaging planes

6. Course examination and certification

7. Full literature review

This five days course designed for cardiac anaesthetists and cardiac surgeons who wish to develop skills in performing and interpreting transoesophageal echocardiograms.

 

Consultant Cardiac Anaesthetists, Cardiologists and Radiologists perform training.

The course is approved for 25 CME Credits
